CBD 101: What to Look For When Picking a Brand

Updated: Feb 23, 2021

What is CBD? Well...we have two answers. The sophisticated answer is that CBD is the non-psychoactive form of cannabinoids (chemicals) in the cannabis plant. It’s the 2nd most abundant ingredient after the psychoactive form, THC. The simple answer is its marijuana without the part that is illegal in most states and has a number of different health benefits, most notably its calming effects.

CBD is used for a multitude of reasons. We have found it to be extremely beneficial in a number of different ways, so you can consider us pretty big fans of this stuff. Jenna used it when she was weaning off of her anxiety medication (please do this accompanied with a doctor’s advice), and now uses it everyday on the go to keep anxiety levels at bay. Jill uses it to help aid sleep at night and swears by it.

It’s extremely important to note that CBD is not FDA regulated, so it is crucial you find a company that you trust. Yes, there are companies out there looking for money, not to heal you.

So if you’re in the market for CBD, here is what we recommend you look for:

  • Organic or locally sourced

  • CO2 extraction method (gold standard for high-quality CBD oil)

  • Full spectrum

  • Anywhere from 20-40mg of CBD is "common"

  • Farm to jar

  • Hemp oil

  • Minimal amount of THC (0.3% or less)

  • 3rd party tested

  • Non-GMO

Jenna has been using Jaded CBD, after they reached out to partner on social media, and loves it. It is a women owned (hell yeah!) business made for people on the go. Their product is grown and harvested organically in the US. They use solvent-free CO2 extraction methods in a food-grade facility, which is then packaged under GMP compliance, and third party tested for safety and quality ( You can use the code JILLANDJENNA15 for 15% off your order.

We recommend checking out for information on dosage.
